Workshops

Throughout the year we have an extensive programme of workshops and events focused on developing new skills.

Spoon Carving Workshop at Haddon Hall

8 Aug

Take a piece of Haddon home with you forever, and join us to discover one of the most enjoyable and satisfying of forest crafts! Brand new for 2025, we are delighted to welcome the experts at Woodland Ways to lead a Spoon Carving Workshop in the Tudor Stables Studio at Haddon Hall, where you will learn the skills needed to carve your own spoon from a billet of green wood selected from the Haddon estate.

On this full day heritage craft workshop you will learn about the safe use of a fixed blade knife and folding saw, and your expert tutor will guide you through the techniques involved, including selecting and splitting the wood, shaping the spoon and then sanding and oiling your creation. All tuition, materials and equipment will be provided, and everyone will go home with a finished item.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities and for everyone over the age of 18. No previous experience is required.

Haddon Hall is a privately-owned estate, and one of the only houses in England to have remained in one family’s ownership for its entire existence. Your support enables us to protect the buildings and precious landscape here for the future.
